"For a great price on Amazon, I picked up this top of the line GPS unit. Granted, there are higher numbered models, but this one has all the bells and whistles you'll need. The Lane Assist feature is great for big interchanges, guiding you into the correct lane. The power cable is really just a USB connector, which is a vast improvement over some of the lower end models which used a proprietary cable that was easily shorted out if bent too much.
The screen is vivid and this is a widescreen model. Touch screen sensitivity is very good as well. Pair this up with your phone and make hands free calls (if you don't already have a bluetooth headset/earpiece). As usual, the Garmin Update software (downloaded from the Garmin web site) keeps your maps and firmware current. Be SURE to update the firmware as soon as you get it. The firmware is basically the software that runs this device and Garmin regularly improves it and fixes issues with it.
This model is worth it's price because you get lifetime map updates, as opposed to having to pay quite a lot for map updates over the life of a unit like this one. The traffic updates are free, as it has a built-in FM receiver on the cord, and yes, it does show some ads from time-to-time, but they are not obtrusive and I don't mind seeing ads if it means my traffic updates are free (paid for by the ads).
All in all, this is a great unit with a perfect blend of features. I am extremely happy with this purchase."
